HI - PACK plasticizing polyurethane resins are intended for nitrocellulose based inks and coatings systems. An extensive range of aromatic based HI - PACK products are available in a choice of hardness and plasticizing effects, which can be applied to both, rigid and flexible substrates. The grades listed in this document represent the most commonly used products with a choice of non-volatile content, viscocity and solvent release characteristics. All conventional HI - PACK products are supplied as isocyanate.

HI-FILM
HI - FILM polymer contains both polyether and polyester, aliphatic and some aromatic based high molecular weight structures. HI -FILM comprises a range of solvent based film forming urethanes, which can be used on a wide variety of substrates where a demanding performance calls for high quality inks. HI - FILM polymers have been formulated to lower the non-volatile content for cost effectiveness. Special grades have been developed for vinyl substrates in combination with vinyl co-polymers. Lamination of Polyester, Polyethylene, Cellophane, BOPP, Aluminium Foil and various types of paper.

Other Dilutents :
  Acetone, MEK with a maximum water content of 0.1%.
Application Weight :
 
For normal applications the dry coating wt should be 2.0-2.5 gsm. However, for specified applications like paper, leatheroid paper etc. a slightly higher coating weight is recommended.
Drying :
  Drying has to remove solvents completely. The drying temp of 70-90° C is recommended.
Nip Temp :
  The NIP steel roller temperature should be 65-700 for GP 100
Pot Life :
  The pot life of the mixed adhesive is 12 to 14 hours depending on the temperature and the quantity of the mixture.
Cleaning :
 
The application system of the equipment should be cleaned with solvents after every operation. Special care should be taken to avoid adhesives drying and curing in the cells of the gravure application cylinder.
Storage :
  Hibond adhesives can be stored for at least 6 months from the date of manufacture at ambient temperature up to 25°C in closed original container.

Description
 
HP 200+HP 200-H is a 2-component, solvent based, reverse catalyzed polyurethane dry bonding adhesive for flexible packaging. The adhesive is used for all general purpose laminates of Alufoil, metallized and clear films.

Application Guide
 
Apply HP 200+HP 200-H to obtain a dry coating weight of between 1.5 and 2.5 gms/m2, by diluting the adhesive to between 35 and 50% solids, depending on the application cylinder available.
Use Recommendation
 
Since the ingredients in films and inks may interfere with the good performance of this adhesive, customers are strongly recommended to carefully test HP 200+HP 200-H before using it in production, to check its suitability for each and every end-use requirement.

Recommended mix ration for SF 300+SF 300-H is 100 parts by weight of the 'A' component with 70 parts by weight of the 'C' component.
Application Guide
 
SF 300+SF 300-H should be applied using a machine designed specifically for laminating solvent free adhesives. The thermostatic temperature control on the metering rollers should be set to 40° C. The adhesive temperature should be checked with a thermometer to check that the temperature of the adhesive also remains at 40° C.
